Obituary for Richard Palmer

Richard Palmer
Richard G. Palmer, age 84 of Wellington, left our earthly world August 1st to join his parents, Margaret and John Palmer, in heaven. Originally from The Bronx, Richard was a notable historian, conversationalist, and avid sports fan. He was a graduate of Fordham College and served as a US Marine in the Korean War. His career in sales and marketing spanned the northeast and later Florida with such companies as Scott Paper Co., C&C Cola, and Burdines, from where he eventually retired. Richard was a cherished husband, step-father, father, grandfather, and friend to many, and a devoted New York Giants fan.

He leaves behind his loving wife and soulmate Vivian, his step-children Susan Fleming and Ken Decter, grandchildren Tyler, Madison, and Kelly, 5 children,13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, plus many dear friends.

A graveside military service will be held at the South Florida National Veterans Cemetery on Friday August 11 at 10:15am. Please contact the family for details. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Veterans of Foreign Wars or the American Heart Association.
